Insolito Trio

Trio formed in 2022 by two clarinetists: Kinga Richter-Sitko and Sylwia Mękarska and pianist and soprano Kamila Wawrzeńczyk. The ensemble is distinguished from other chamber ensembles by its unusual instrumental combination and sound. Insolito Trio performs Classical, Balkan and Folk music.

In October 2022, the ensemble performed at the inauguration of the II International Clarinet Masterclasses at the headquarters of the Stanisław Hadyna Song and Dance Ensemble “Śląsk” in Koszęcin. In addition, thanks to his achievements, they were invited to play a recital during the XVIII Felix Mendelssohn Music Days in Cracow. In December 2023, Insolito premiered “Music no. 1” by Krzysztof Jurczak during the IX Festival of Contemporary Music ‘New Waves’ in Gdansk. Meanwhile, in 2024 the ensemble performed three times during the Zodiac Music Academy & Festival in France – twice in Valdeblore and in Nice. During one of the concerts there was the premiere of Adah Kaplan’s (USA) piece “To Have Been Here” written especially for Insolito Trio.

Recommendations

“I have had the great pleasure of hearing and working with the Insolito Trio last summer after the young ensemble was invited by the Zodiac Music Academy & Festival to be its ensemble-in-residence for 2024.  In the two weeks of getting to know this fabulous group of musicians, I found the Insolito Trio to be a chamber group full of passion, virtuosity and dedication to musical perfection.  The Insolito Trio is deeply engaging and draws the audience in, keeping the listener fully immersed in their performance until the very very last note.  Their varied programming, which ranges from Balkan and Klezmer music all the way to commissioned works by way of Romantic masterpieces and more, offer the public a true musical voyage. These three young musicians understand the demands of being a performing musician in this day and age and are entrepreneurial, able to think outside the box, while being fully dedicated to their musical craft. I believe the Insolito Trio is slated to have a long and interesting international career, and in its way inspire other young ensembles of mixed and untraditional instrumentation. I couldn’t recommend them more.”

“Insolito Trio is one of the most talented and engaging trios I have ever heard, and I’ve heard a lot of trios! Consisting of two clarinets and piano, the trio is a refreshing departure from groups with a more traditional ensemble instrumentation. Their consummate musicianship, dramatic flair, technical ability, and amazing rapport with audiences places Insolito Trio at the very top of the world’s greatest chamber ensembles.”
Robert Paterson

“(…)To say I was impressed by the musicality and vibrancy of Insolito Trio, as I heard them perform and coached them on some of their program, would be an understatement.
The melding of the sound, between the two clarinets and piano, the communication, human and musical, made the artistic result of their performances of the highest level. Second to none.”
